Privacy Policy

“Armis Tech Private Limited in its full form is a service providing platform registered under the Companies Act, 2063 B.S. of Nepal. In using the platform provided by Armis Tech, which will hereby be defined as “Roam”, the User accepts the following privacy policy in compulsory manner while using the mobile application and website of  Roam.

We, at Armis Tech Pvt. Ltd., are very sensitive and committed when it comes to handling, storing and safeguarding your data. We do not extract or store any data that are irrelevant for functioning of our service and have no contribution towards user experience. The following document describes the collection, processing and usage of your personal data.

Please be advised that the Privacy Policy may be amended from time to time (Don’t worry we will send you a notification when such changes occur).

  1. Introduction to Roam

We, here at Roam, serve as an intermediary, a platform that connects you to hotel booking and marketing services based on your needs and requests. This platform is used by both you and third party service providers. We simply help connect you two with just a few clicks. For us to be able to connect you with your desired services and service provider, we need access to a few of your data. Don’t worry we are very transparent about the data we collect and are very careful while allowing access to third party (Service Providers) your data.

  1. The Data we collect

In order to smoothen out your experience in using our platform we collect following data:

  1. Roam at its minimum asks for your name and email address. Where you choose to open a user account with us, we store your email, username and contact details with the aim that you do not have to follow the same repetitive process every time you use our app or website.
  2. We, with your permission may collect your current location details with the sole aim of suggesting you places and services that are currently around you. For example, we may use such location details to suggest hotels or other properties that are around your location. Similarly the location access can also be used to show you the location and direction on the map feature of our app or website.
  3. Where you choose to create a user account with us, we store your name, username, email id, your payment option, profile picture you choose to upload and your identification document. We use your personal identification document because the law under Nepalese jurisdiction requires some of our service providers to keep on record at least one document that can identify you. When you choose to submit your identification document to us, we can directly forward such a document to the relevant service provider, and you don’t have to manually produce such a document every time. Don’t worry you can choose to not submit your identification document, but you may be required to present it to the service provider (Third Party) while using the services.
  4. In addition to this where you have created a user account with us, we keep record of the services you have booked through our platform, reviews you have submitted, any complaints filed by you. We use this information to provide you personalized experience in the future based on your preferences.

  1. Automatically collected data:
  1. In addition to data that are collected pursuant to Clause B above, we use cookies, log files, scripts, tracking URLs, local storage objects to collect minimum information that are required for smooth functioning of the application and website. Such data include your IP address, the type of device you are accessing through, your operating system, software used, internet browser, language preference, time stamp. This is done to ensure that the website or the application automatically functions in a compatible manner when you choose to access our service. The cookies also provide us with information of how you booked the service and what was your preferred payment method. We commit to you that the access to the cookies are not allowed to any third parties.

  1. Additional Data Collected:

In excess of the data we collect pursuant to Clause B and C above, based on the Service you choose you might be required to provide additional information. For example, if you are booking a hotel using Roam, you must provide additional information such as your Check In and Check Out date, number of people accompanying you, type of service, etc. This additional data collected is based on the type of the service you choose and the storage and processing of such data shall be in compliance with this privacy policy and statutory requirements.

  1. Use of the Data

The data collected pursuant to Clause B and C are used for following purposes:

  1. Identifying your device: Primarily, we use the data and cookies to identify the device you are accessing Roam from in order to ensure that the application and website is fully responsive and functions with your device. Similarly, where you permit to access your location, we use such data to suggest places, services and activities near you.
  2. User Account: If you choose to create an user account with us, you are required to provide your email id, username and contact details to us. In addition you can choose to add your profile picture along with an identification document. Such data is used to administer your account, keep track of the services you have used, review what you have submitted and handle complaints. Furthermore, the relevant data under the user account are forwarded to the Service Provider which makes it possible to book your services.
  3. Service Facilitation and Reservation: Without the collected data and processing of such data, we won’t be able to facilitate and reserve the service you choose to reserve through our platform. These include sending information such as your name and the service you choose to book, contact information (to the extent required), service date to the service provider and communicate you the confirmations, information related to such services. This is required to enable online responsive service reservation. We assure you that we take all measures required to protect your data with a different guideline set for the service providers (Third Party) in relation to handling your data (Click here to read service providers obligation in handling data).
  4. Communication: Roam, with the intent of communicating various relevant information such as confirmation of the booked service, handling complaints, asking for review may contact you through various means based on your provided data such as phone, email communication, chatbot etc.
  5. Marketing: Roam analyzes your data for various marketing purposes which includes informing you about any upcoming or ongoing offers, informing you about referral offers, sending you individualized mail based on your usage of the Roam Platform and your choice of preference.
  6. Increasing User Experience: Roam uses the collected data and further analyses such data for the purpose of increasing your overall app and website experience and increasing overall quality of our services. The data might be shared with our developers to fix any bugs and conduct tests related to the application and website.

           

Who we share your data with:

  1. Service Provider (Third Party): As explained above, we share certain information with the service provider based on the service you have booked to facilitate and ensure that such services are booked and the service provider has means to communicate with you.
  2. Roam Team Members: Your data may be analyzed by the Roam team members to ensure that the application and website is functioning in proper manner. We also do this to provide you with various individualized offers based on your preference.
  3. Payment Gateways: Certain types of information are shared with the payment gateways or  payment service provider for payment facilitation purpose. Such information may include:
    a.     Your contact information.
    b. Your choice of property and location of the property.

  1. Our Advisers 

  1. Data Storage: All of your data collected by Roam (as mentioned above) are stored in electronic form on the system of Roam .Only limited, controlled and authorized access are provided to Service Providers (Third Party) and employees of Roam. A separate confidentiality clause is entered into with the concerned Service Providers(Third Party) and users of the data to ensure that any unauthorized use of the data is prevented. The data may be shared when required by law, ordered by the court, processing of claims against us, required in course of business and for conduct of the business, or sharing among our professionals for business purpose.

  1. Governing Laws: This Privacy Policy shall be guided by the “Privacy Act, 2075” of Nepal, and other relevant laws of Nepal.
